This page has pictures and descriptions of Our hutches, runs, enclosures and our "animal shed"
"The enclosure"
This is my big 8 x 8ft run, its sectioned into two 4 x 8ft runs, It took months to desigh and build, our gardener put it up for us, i finshed it off, stained it, made it rabbit/guinea pig proof....So they cant escape! Im quite proud of it, but it does tend to flood in the winter, so i need to think of a genious plan to stop that from happening!
Double hutch
This is my 2 tier hutch, its NOT 2 separte hutches, its 2 hutces with ramp joining them!! Just less than 4 1/2 ft wide and about 2 1/2ft deep! Brilliant for does that have a litter, lots of room to stretch, run, play and sleep!!
Guinea pig hutch!!
This is the outside guinea pig hutch, 3 tier, a few inches less than 4ft wide! Tounge and groove, not a bad hutch, i got it second hand, its done very well, but will probably need to replace it within the next year!
My new hutch!! I just had this specially made! It cost £190 and was well worth it, its 5 x 2ft, very large, and as you can see very high, my frenchies arent as big as some frenchies can get, lol, so they are pretty happy with their new hutch and they have plenty of room!! Isnt it lovely? Im so happy with it!! : } The bed area isnt as small as it looks, it just has a small door!
This is my new 4ft 4 tier hutch!! Its brilliant, i need to fix wood to the bottom 2 hutches so they have a bed area, but its ok for now!! It doesnt look very high......dont worry its higher than it looks, the doors are just small! But it would be better if it was a little bigger! I got this given to me free because i took some rabbits from a women who was ill and could no longer look after them!!!! Poor spike looks so squahed at the bottom! he isnt really! I may replace this next year, with a higher hutch, but im only putting the small dwarf lops or babies in it at the moment!
Inside the "animal shed" Pictured right the surface i use to treat/medicate/health check the rabbits and guinea pigs, also underneath i used to store the bedding, but now i use another part of the shed which i will take a picture of at a later date! Left the picture board, which i really need to update!
This is known as the breeding hutch! It is under a wooden lean-to so its pretty water/weather proof, and there is electricity out there, i always use it for my does when they are pregnant/nursing, its big enough for any rabbit, and as it opens at the top you dont disturb the bunny as much and you dont have to worry about babies falling out!! Ive managed to watch 3 rabbits give birth in this hutch - its my "lucky hutch"!! Ive had it about 4 years, and its still as good as ever!! Im hoping to get a small cctv camera set up in the hutch soon!!
This page isnt finished yet, i have more hutches too add, and the animal "shed"!!!!!
